Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is known for her acclaimed performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her career began acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Acting has always been her passion. In fifth grade, she was cast as Helen Keller in an original production. In the fifth grade, following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in her left ear. However, she did not let that stop her. She studied drama at college after which she moved to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. She moved from New York to Los Angeles and tried to land films roles. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. She has since appeared in many shows and TV films throughout a span of more than 30 years. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
