Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. She has won numerous awards for her work, including an Oscar. Her career began as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. Acting has always been her passion. In the fifth grade she portrayed Helen Keller in an original play. Mumps caused her to be blind and deaf in the one ear, but she did not allow this hinder her progress as an actress. In college she studied theatre and later moved from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in an lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. After that, she relocated to Los Angeles and tried to find movie parts. In Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. Over the past three decades, since then, Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
